I.O.I's 'Gapjagi' hits No. 1 on Melon on the opening day of their Seoul concert run

I.O.I's Gapjagi ("Suddenly") topped the Melon TOP 100 on May 29. The group celebrated the same day by kicking off their solo concert run at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul.

The nine-member lineup—Lim Nayoung, Chungha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yujung, Kim Doyeon, Jeon Somi—released mini album 3 I.O.I : LOOP on May 19 to mark their 10th debut anniversary. Kang Mina and Joo Kyulkyung sat out due to individual schedules. Broadcast promotions wrapped after 10 days.

Kim Sejeong posted a screenshot of the Melon chart on Instagram and addressed Jeon Somi directly: "Honey, you became Jeon Somi. Suddenly! You're the center!" The timing felt unreal to her. "Something even a drama writer couldn't script," she wrote.

Jeon Somi called May 29 the "real final broadcast" for Gapjagi. "I will remember this forever," she posted. Chungha pointed out that during I.O.I's original one-year run, the group couldn't appear on every music broadcast, so this comeback meant something different. Jung Chaeyeon said she "didn't expect the music chart at all" and had only wanted to celebrate the anniversary and repay fans who had waited.

Kang Mina posted separately to address discord rumors: "The members and I text almost every single day saying we miss each other and congratulating each other — why do people make life so exhausting with all this talk of discord."

The 2026 I.O.I Concert Tour: LOOP runs May 29 to 31 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. The Asia leg expands to Bangkok and Hong Kong after Seoul closes.
