Kim Geon-mo returns with new single on July 1, first release in 10 years

Kim Geon-mo releases new single 어디쯤 가고 있을까 on July 1 at 6 PM. His last original material came nearly a decade earlier: 50, the 25th debut anniversary album from November 2016.

The new single remakes the title track from Jeon Young's 1977 debut album. On the recording, Kim plays guitar himself—the first time since his debut. Fans have long known him for piano.

This follows the '25-26 Kim Geon-mo Live Tour', which ran from September 2025 through March 2026 and marked his return to active performing after roughly six years away. The tour closed on March 21 at Seoul Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. Busan tickets sold out two minutes after going on sale. Seoul's finale was also a full sellout.

During the tour, Kim said: "I will prepare a new album with the mindset of debuting again." Ten years is a long time to sit on that energy.

His agency, Geoneum Planning, confirmed that further new work will follow the single release on a rolling basis.
