LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and KATSEYE are releasing a joint digital single, ICONIC BY MISTAKE, on June 12 simultaneously worldwide.
A surprise logo motion teaser arrived June 8, trailed by a music video teaser June 9. The full MV drops June 11 at midnight KST. That same day at 6 PM KST, all three groups perform together for the first time on Mnet M Countdown.
Source Music, Belift Lab, and HYBE-Geffen Records are behind the track—an alternative pop song built around the lyric "I'm iconic by mistake." The three teams had already filmed challenges together, and a shared stage felt like the natural next step. Concept photos rolled out June 10.
LE SSERAFIM just landed their second full-length album PUREFLOW pt.1 at #10 on the Billboard 200, marking their fifth straight top-10 placement there. ILLIT's debut single Magnetic became the first debut track by a K-pop girl group to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. KATSEYE walked away with three awards at last month's American Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year. (Their recent solo singles—LE SSERAFIM's BOOMPALA, ILLIT's It's Me, KATSEYE's PINKY UP—all lived in the techno lane, so this alternative pop turn is worth a second look.)
