Park Seo-yoon on her drama debut in Netflix's Cham Gyoyuk — and what's next

Park Seo-yoon's real-life follower count tells the story pretty clearly: 500 before Cham Gyoyuk, roughly 300,000 after.

The Netflix series cast her as Han Ye-ri, the episode 3 lead — a high school influencer with 600,000 SNS followers inside the show. It was Park's first drama role. Cham Gyoyuk topped Netflix's non-English show chart for two consecutive weeks, reached #1 in 46 countries including South Korea, Japan, Turkey, and Brazil in its second week, and entered the Top 10 in 91 countries.

Park was direct about how the shoot actually felt. "The joy and excitement of being the episode lead lasted exactly half a day," she said. "After that, the months of filming were very difficult."

She's not pulling back, though. "I am confident that I am an actor with a wide spectrum who can do well in various genres," she said. "I have a growing desire to challenge myself further."

Her next project keeps her in the same orbit: she'll appear in Netflix series First Doctor alongside Cham Gyoyuk director Hong Jong-chan and lead actor Kim Mu-yeol.
