Steven Spielberg's SF film Disclosure Day arrives in Korean theaters June 10. By 9 PM on June 9, it had locked in 67,798 tickets and a 29.1% booking rate for the No. 1 spot. That morning at 9 AM, it was already leading with 24.3% and roughly 38,000 tickets reserved.
The film runs 145 minutes and is rated 12 and older. Its cast: Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Coleman Domingo, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. Spielberg's SF catalog includes Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1982), E.T. (1984), and War of the Worlds (2005).
Japanese director Koreeda Hirokazu's Sheep in the Box also opens June 10. It stars Ayase Haruka, Daigo (Chidori), and Kuwaki Rimu. The 127-minute film is rated 12 and older. By 9 PM on June 9, it held 9.4% in advance bookings and 4th place, up from 7.2% that morning with around 11,000 tickets.
Goonche (군체) still leads the current weekend box office. It drew 603,000 viewers May 5–7, claiming 44.4% of revenue and the top spot. Released May 21, it hit 4 million admissions by day 14—fastest among 2026 domestic releases—and has now reached 4,727,000 viewers total. Its advance rate sits at 14.5% (23,000 tickets) for 2nd place.
Comedy Wild Thing (와일드 씽), directed by Son Jae-gon and released June 3, pulled 321,000 weekend viewers and 22.6% revenue share for 2nd place. In advance bookings it's 3rd at 12.5% (19,000 tickets). The film centers on Triangle, a mixed-gender group from the 2000s music scene, reuniting for a performance two decades later. Kang Dong-won, Eom Tae-gu, and Park Ji-hyun play Triangle's members; Oh Jung-se plays ballad singer Choi Sung-gon.
Horror film Backrooms, directed by Kane Parsons (who first gained attention through a YouTube video of the same name), placed 3rd with 199,000 weekend viewers and 15.2% revenue share. It's accumulated 799,000 admissions. The story unfolds in an unknown space where characters attempt escape.
Michael Jackson biopic Michael ranked 4th with 63,000 weekend viewers (4.8% revenue share) and 1,540,000 cumulative admissions. Fantasy film Strange Candy Shop Zenzendou, starring Ramiran and Lee Re, rounded out the top five with 39,000 viewers.
