Khalid returns to Seoul in December for first Korea concert in 8 years

Khalid is coming back to Seoul. The American singer will perform at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2, Hall 10 on December 5 at 7 PM, with Live Nation Korea organizing the show.

It's been eight years since his last Korea concert. He played his debut Seoul show in 2018, then a 2020 follow-up was cancelled due to COVID-19. The December date is part of the It's Always Summer Somewhere world tour, which kicked off in Las Vegas in May.

There's a wrinkle to this one: Khalid recently released Something Special, a single with Korean actor Ahn Hyo-seop (안효섭).

Tickets drop in two waves. An artist presale runs July 13 from 12 PM to 3 PM, and general sales go live July 16 on NOL.

For context: Khalid was born in El Paso, Texas in 1998. He dropped debut single Location in 2016 before graduating high school. His first studio album American Teen peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200; his second, Free Spirit, debuted at number 1. Better, from the 2018 EP Suncity, climbed to number 8 on the Hot 100 in its 30th week on the chart, making it his first solo top-10 single. Talk reached number 3 on the Hot 100 and earned a Record of the Year nomination at the 62nd Grammy Awards. At one point, Better, Talk, My Bad, Saturday Nights, and Outta My Head (with John Mayer) simultaneously held the top 5 spots on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart — a record that has never been matched in the chart's history.

He has received seven Grammy nominations total (including Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 60th ceremony), won six Billboard Music Awards, and four American Music Awards. In 2020, he became the youngest artist to surpass 15 billion cumulative streams on Spotify. Time named him one of its 100 Most Influential People in 2019.
