Sung Si-kyung vetoed Lee Seung-chul's first choice for their duet, pushing for '말리꽃' instead—even though the song's too high for his own voice.

Lee Seung-chul and Sung Si-kyung performed together on KBS 2TV's The Seasons — Sung Si-kyung's Ear Boyfriend on July 10. They sang '말리꽃'. It almost didn't happen that way.
Lee Seung-chul, celebrating his 40th debut anniversary, had picked 'My Love' as the duet. Sung Si-kyung pushed back. "I thought that rather than me shining, the senior should shine and the viewers should like it," he said, arguing '말리꽃' would let his guest shine brighter.
The problem: the song sits too high for Sung Si-kyung's range. He normally lowers the key by about three steps when he performs it. Lee Seung-chul didn't see that coming. "I didn't know there was such a deep meaning behind it," he said.
Choi Yu-ri, Kim Dae-myung, and LUCY also guested on the episode. The Seasons airs Fridays at 11:10 PM on KBS 2TV.
