Lee Seung-yoon on 10+ years as a singer-songwriter: "I dream of performances that feel like a festival"

Lee Seung-yoon hit the 10-year mark as a singer-songwriter. Now he's looking back at how he got there.

In an interview published July 4, 2026, Lee walked through his path: university song festivals, band work, solo releases. He won a broadcast music competition along the way.

It wasn't a straight line. In his early-to-mid twenties, Lee kept music as a side thing. He followed the expected route instead, paralyzed by a specific fear. "I wanted to do music really well and work hard at it," he said, "but I was afraid of what would happen if I didn't succeed despite my efforts."

(A decade later, that fear didn't stop him.)

On his live performances, Lee had one vision: "I dream of performances that feel like a festival."
