Red Velvet return August 3 with 'Velvet Summer', first full-group album in over 2 years

Red Velvet are coming back. Velvet Summer hits August 3 across online music platforms, with a physical edition the same day.

It's their first full-group album in approximately 2 years and 2 months — Cosmic came out in June 2024. The title track is Surfin' Boy.

Before the album lands, the group holds the 2026 Red Velvet FAN-CON <A Day in Red & Velvet> at Korea University's Hwajung Gymnasium on August 1 and 2. Both dates sold out entirely during the pre-sale phase. Pre-orders for the physical album are already open.

Red Velvet have a documented track record with summer releases. Red Flavor, Power Up, Umpah Umpah, and Queendom all became mega-hits in their respective seasons. (The "summer queen" tag follows them around for a reason.) ReVeluvs have two years of wait behind them — the fan-con sellout suggests demand hasn't cooled.
