BTS, BLACKPINK, G-Dragon sweep Music Awards Japan 2026 in Tokyo

BTS took Best K-pop Artist at Music Awards Japan 2026, held December 13 in Tokyo. The ceremony was organized by Japan's Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA) for the second time.

BLACKPINK won Best K-pop Song for JUMP. Jin picked up the listener-voted Best of Listeners' Choice: Overseas Song award for Don't Say You Love Me. G-Dragon claimed the Korean Popular Music Special Award for POWER.

XG, the all-Japanese girl group trained under K-pop methods, left with two wins: Best Global Hit from Japan for HYPNOTIZE and Best Dance/Electronic Song for GALA. HYPNOTIZE also took one of the show's six major categories.

Rapper Lee Young-ji won Best Cross-border Collaboration Song for 2, a track made with Japanese singer-songwriter Hoshino Gen. HUNTR/X's Golden — the OST for Netflix anime K-pop Demon Hunters — took Best Asian Song.

Fujii Kaze walked away with the night's biggest haul. His third studio album Prema, produced entirely by Korean producer and DJ Lee O-gong (이오공, also known as 250), won Best Album, Best R&B/Contemporary Song, and Best R&B/Contemporary Artist.

CEIPA positions Music Awards Japan as Asia's answer to the Grammys. Industry professionals in Japan nominate first, then 5,000 music industry professionals worldwide vote to determine winners.
