On MBC Radio Star's June 10 '와썹! 마이웨이' special, Dayoung revealed how she made her chart-topping solo debut 'BODY'—a guerrilla operation involving an LA detour, cold DMs to producers, and an accidental

WJSN's Dayoung appeared on MBC Radio Star on June 10 for the '와썹! 마이웨이' special alongside Park Jun-hyung, Jonathan, and Jung Il-young. The stories she brought were a lot.
Ten years after WJSN's debut, her first solo single BODY hit No. 1 on music broadcasts and landed her a booking at Waterbomb. But how it actually happened is the real story. She told her company she was heading to Jeju Island for a rest. Then she flew alone to Los Angeles, tracked down well-known local composers, and sent them cold DMs until she had a song.
The music video came together the same way. Dayoung held open auditions in LA to cast dancers for the BODY clip. One participant made such a strong impression that she passed them on the spot. Only later, while sorting through credits, did she find out the dancer's name was Shiloh Jolie—the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
She also walked through the physical prep behind the comeback. Over a year, she lost 12 kg at roughly 1 kg per month. She wanted to be able to run and sing on stage for longer. After the weight loss, dancing felt lighter. Singing felt more comfortable.
For the global ambitions driving all of this, Dayoung described a 5 AM English study routine. She reset her entire surrounding environment to English and used Taylor Swift interview videos as her primary learning material. The so-called "America bug" episodes that came out of that process reportedly had the studio in stitches.
