ILLIT drops Japanese single 2 'I Got Your Back' with rock title track and anime tie-in
ILLIT's second Japanese single drops July 26 digitally, July 29 on physical formats. The rock title track was co-written by Yuika and composed by Kanata Okajima.
ILLIT's second Japanese single, I Got Your Back, arrives digitally July 26. Physical copies follow July 29.
Three tracks make up the package: the title I Got Your Back, a Korean-language version of the same song, and Sunday Morning—the Season 2 opening theme for anime Princess "Interrogation" Time, which aired in January. The Korean version stays physical-only and won't hit streaming services.
I Got Your Back is a rock song about loyalty when anxiety and pressure close in. The message threading through it: "You are not alone." Yuika wrote the lyrics—she's the singer-songwriter behind Sukidakara (好きだから。), a TikTok hit that blew up globally. Kanata Okajima composed it; he's worked with BTS and Snow Man. A preview dropped on SNS July 17.
The single lands during tour. ILLIT are at Glion Arena Kobe in Hyogo today and tomorrow as part of ILLIT LIVE "PRESS START♥︎" in JAPAN, a five-city Japan run. Every show sold out at the reservation stage. Some dates added restricted-view and standing sections to keep up with demand.
