Jang Han-byeol's fan cafe hits 20,000 members, largest among '무명전설' Top 7

Jang Han-byeol's official fan cafe 은하수 crossed 20,000 members on July 19. No other Top 7 contestant on MBN's 무명전설 came close.

The Brisbane-born singer debuted in 2011 with Led Apple (레드애플). His father had conditions: audition in Korea, sure—but only after dental school. Jang enrolled. Two years later, he dropped out. After 무명전설, his father texted him. Proud of him. The first time he'd ever said so.

Before the competition, Jang won Malaysia's Big Stage audition in 2019 and took the AME Top New Artist Award in 2020. A fan meeting at Yonsei University's Grand Hall sold out in one minute.

On July 17, Jang appeared with fellow Top 3 finalists Seong-ri and Ha-ru on episode 3 of 전현무계획4, co-hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (곽준빈). The show filmed in Sacheon and pulled 1.8% nationwide viewership—MBN at 1.3%, Channel S at 0.5%. Episode 1 had drawn MBN 0.9% and Channel S 0.4%. Episode 2 landed at MBN 0.8% and Channel S 0.3%.

Ha-ru talked about performing 인생의열쇠, composed by Son Tae-jin, during the finals' first-round new song mission. He was battling severe food poisoning. "The song came out on stage but I didn't have as much energy as before," he said. He also shared that he'd lived alone with his mother from age one and lost her to cancer at twenty. Seong-ri's parents divorced when he was in elementary school. He lived with his father, who died of cancer when Seong-ri turned 19. For his prize money, Seong-ri plans a family trip—something he'd never done before.

Jang mentioned that another entertainer had approached him romantically during 무명전설. Seong-ri's reaction: "Wait! Really?" The three named their role models as Cho Yong-pil (장한별), Nam Jin (하루), and Na Hoon-a (성리).
