BTS made history on July 20 at the 2026 World Cup final halftime show—the first official halftime performance in FIFA World Cup final history.

BTS took the stage at the 2026 North/Central America World Cup final halftime show on July 20 (Korean time). It was the first official halftime show ever staged at a FIFA World Cup final.
The group performed second in the lineup. Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber were also on the bill. Members wore red-toned clothing that echoed the South Korean national soccer team. Their set included Dynamite, the track that made BTS the first Korean act to top the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2020.
Later, BTS returned to the stage for the finale. They joined Coldplay, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Sesame Street and Muppet characters, and the PS22 public school choir from Staten Island, New York, to perform We Dance—a song Coldplay wrote specifically for this tournament.
The performance was part of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund campaign, led by international civic organization Global Citizen. The initiative aims to expand educational access for underprivileged children worldwide.
Through Big Hit Music, BTS said: "It is an honor to perform at the first halftime show of the World Cup final that we have enjoyed watching since childhood." They added: "We were able to stand on this stage thanks to the love and support of ARMY around the world."
(BTS members had previously named the Super Bowl halftime show as a dream. The World Cup final stage got there first.)
