Lee Jun-young's villain acting so convincing his own mom asked if it was real

Actor Lee Jun-young appeared on tvN's You Quiz on the Block on July 8. The standout moment had nothing to do with awards. His mom wanted to know if he actually behaved like a villain in real life.

He earned the nickname "handsome trash" playing Geum Sung-je in Weak Hero Class 2. The role got under his mother's skin. "My mom said, 'You haven't actually been like that outside, right?'" he recalled. He assured her it was acting. Her reply: "It's creepier that you're saying it's acting."

Her worry didn't stop there. Even as viewers praised the performance, she kept pushing back. "I wish you would do a good role." "How did I raise you like this." Yoo Jae-suk nailed the dynamic: "She knows it's acting, but it feels so realistic she might think, 'Could his actual personality be like that?'"

His Completely Fooled character, Young-beom, came up next. Yoo mentioned that Lee's father said his son was "more like Geum-myung than Young-beom." Lee agreed, calling himself closer to the filial daughter Geum-myung in real life. (Filial son energy confirmed, apparently.)

Off screen, Lee has worked nonstop for 10 years without taking a single year off since Buam-dong Revenge. His credits include D.P. and Mask Girl. He also paid off his parents' debts and bought them a car and a house.
